We are delighted to invite you to our user events running in the UK in 2024, in a variety of exciting locations across the nation. Whether you’re looking to enhance your walking or running skills, just want to experience the joy of movement, and want to meet other amputees in your local community, this is the perfect event for all prosthetic users. We believe that everyone–no matter their ability–should have an opportunity to thrive in the activities and sports they love.
For the Advanced Running Skills Clinic, we are partnering up with Richard Whitehead Foundation, supported by Nissan. The session will include intermediate and advanced running techniques. Please only apply if you have previous experience of some running training (with the prosthetic centre physiotherapist, local athletics/sports club or previous Mobility clinics or other events). You do not necessarily need a running blade to join in with the session, but you should ensure that your prosthesis is suitable to run with – i.e. the foot/knee components are suitable, and your socket fit is good.
Please get in touch with ukevents@ossur.com if you have any queries about your suitability for this clinic.
When registering you will be asked to pick one the adult or juniors session. NB: The juniors session is open from ages 12-17 years, and places are limited.
These clinics are a great opportunity for healthcare professionals and coaches who work closely with amputees and people with limb difference to learn and collaborate in a hands-on and professional environment. We’d be delighted to welcome you and your clients to this clinic.
We will also be hosting an educational session between 12.30-14:00pm for athletes, parents, coaches and healthcare professionals. This will cover an introduction to athletics classification, the para talent pathway, and a Q+A with the Richard Whitehead Foundation and the beneficiaries of the Nissan Possibilities projects.
